where
G = universal gravitational constant [6.67x10^-11]
m = mass of the rocket (or any other object)
M = mass of the Earth
R = radius of the Earth
VESC = escape velocity
Also, ZOMG! You can divide everything by m, making the required escape velocity independent of the rocket’s mass!
